Background

About

I am a structural engineer by training with a wide range of experience across major multidisciplinary construction projects in Singapore and Indonesia. My background spans technical design, client advisory, feasibility studies, construction support, and design reviews, working with government bodies and international development clients.

I hold a cum laude double degree (MEng and BEng in Structural Engineering) from Universitas Indonesia and am a Graduate Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE). I am currently pursuing doctoral research, and remain actively engaged with the engineering practice.

I am keen to bring technical depth and hands-on project experience to challenging structural engineering roles, whether in design, advisory, or project delivery.

Practice

Experience

Project Coordinator
Mott MacDonald · Jakarta, Indonesia · July 2025 – July 2026
  • Maintained the client technical relationship with Penta Ocean–Bachy Soletanche Joint Venture (PBJV) on Singapore's S$7.47 billion North-South Corridor (NSC), including contract N105 — the most technically demanding contract on the NSC, where tunnel sections were designed to cross an existing MRT line at tight clearances.
  • Provided construction support spanning design optimisation, construction staging reviews, design strengthening, and impact assessments. Secured multiple Variation Orders including strutting omissions, raker strut designs, temporary deck removal sequencing, rock blasting impact optimisation, transfer beam and slab designs, piling omissions, and construction incident reviews.
  • Managed structural drawing submissions and design approval on behalf of the Qualified Person (QPD) under Singapore's construction regulations, resolving design inquiries with the Land Transport Authority and Accredited Checkers.
  • Coordinated teams of engineers, checkers, and drafters across offices in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and India, managing resource allocation and submission schedules across concurrent design packages.
  • Developed automation tools for data visualisation and non-linear sectional analysis of RC members, enabling designs beyond conventional code provisions — reducing calculation time by 40–60% and achieving reinforcement savings of up to 25–30%.
  • Contributed to Mott MacDonald's Digital Practice on office-wide in-house design tools through verification and validation, calculation benchmarking, error identification, and stress-testing.
Civil and Structural Engineer
Mott MacDonald · Jakarta, Indonesia · July 2024 – July 2026
  • Designed transport civil infrastructure including stacked cut-and-cover tunnels, prestressed concrete bridges, composite steel box-girders, lead rubber bearing seismic isolators, retaining walls, abutments, piers, and steel trusses — complying with ASCE, ACI, AASHTO, AISC, Eurocode, and SNI.
  • Delivered structural design of commercial and mixed-use buildings up to 10 storeys, covering both gravity and lateral load-resisting systems.
Selected Projects N101 & N105 Singapore North-South Corridor Underground Tunnels · DE152 Changi Airport Underground Roadworks · Bandung Intra Urban Toll Road and Pejagan–Cilacap Toll Road · LRT Bandung Raya · Millennium Challenge Corporation USA (Palembang & Manado) · Green Cities and Infrastructure UK (Kota Tua Jakarta)
Structural Engineer, Independent Consultant
Independent Consultancies · Jakarta, Indonesia · January 2023 – July 2025
  • Provided structural design and advisory services to state-owned enterprises, private developers, and architectural firms across the full project lifecycle — from feasibility studies through detailed design to construction support.
  • Design portfolio included a three-storey steel Special Moment Frame parking structure, dynamic machine foundations, and punching shear assessments.
  • Supervised drafting teams and reviewed drawings against design approach, constructability requirements, and applicable standards.
  • Led site surveys, soil investigations, and field meetings as the main technical contact for clients.
Selected Projects DPR RI Nusantara 1 · DLH DKI Jakarta Refuse Derived Fuel Plant Phase 2 · RSPAD Gatot Subroto Hospital Expansion · Various residential and commercial landed projects
Research Assistant, Civil Engineering
Universitas Indonesia · West Java, Indonesia · January 2021 – July 2024
  • Performed non-linear assessment — time history and pushover analysis — of a 12-storey RC laboratory building for the DTS UI Laboratory Project.
  • Developed MATLAB finite element programs for 1D, 2D (membrane, plate, and shell), and 3D elements, contributing to improvements in the DKMQ24 shell element formulation.
  • Assisted in running the Laboratory of Structures and Materials and the Laboratory of Fluid Dynamics and Hydrology.
  • Directed lectures, prepared solution manuals, and invigilated exams across Structural Analysis, Concrete and Steel Design, and Applied Mathematics — coordinating 50 teaching assistants and approximately 400 students per semester over two and a half years.
Intern
PT. Adhi Karya, Tbk. · Jakarta, Indonesia · July 2022 – September 2022
  • Supervised construction quality control at Indonesia Arena in Senayan, Jakarta — an IDR 639 billion, 16,500-seat sports venue for the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup. Works covered reinforced concrete, structural steel, curved members, and spaceframe construction.

EERI Seismic Design Competition 2022

As Structural Team Lead, I led the Universitas Indonesia team against 32 universities — including Stanford, UC Berkeley, and UCLA — finishing in the top 10 and winning the Best Poster Award as the first team from Southeast Asia to compete. The entry was a 19-storey balsa tower, developed through ground motion processing, time history analysis in ETABS and MATLAB, and dynamic prototype testing with shaking tables and accelerometers.
